How much will I need to pay for my employee to complete an apprenticeship?

Modified on Thu, 1 Aug at 3:14 PM

If your company pays the Apprenticeship Levy you can use this to fund the programme. If not, you'll only need to pay 5% of the Apprenticeship training costs, as the government will cover the remaining 95%.

This also applies to marginal Levy paying organisations who don’t have enough to fund all of the Apprenticeship training they'd like to.

If your organisation has less than 50 employees and you employ an Apprentice aged under 19, you don’t need to pay the 5%, so taking on an apprentice is free, you just have to pay for their exams and registration fees.
